The barriers that keep your child indoors
have just met their end!
We're here to help.

We're workin' hard to build this site for YOU!

There are some articles elsewhere on this site that has lots of useful information when preparing to introduce your children to the outdoors.
I would suggest starting with
Hazard Awareness to ease any misconceptions or fears.

Here are some of the topics we will soon cover when connecting your kids with nature:

  • Common obstacles and how to overcome them.
  • Protection: Lyme, West Nile and sunburn.
  • Your agenda versus the child's agenda.
  • The "MAGIC BULLET" -- What tried-and-true methods work.
  • Ideas for kid friendly activities.
  • Excellent resources for more guidance.

One of the first things I hear from parents is, "I know it would be good to get my kid outside more and interested in nature... but it is so hard to find the time".

I believe this response is based on two issues. One (which I will address later) is a resistance to change.  We need to be willing to make the time do ensure the future health of our children. The second reason may be lack of awareness of how easy it is to start connecting with nature. Well... how about a quick solution?

Donna Long (Who happens to be one of our neighbors here in PA) has a site dedicated to connecting with nature right outside your door! Visit CONNECTING WITH NATURE and see just how accessible nature can be.  CWN may appear to be a kid-friendly site (and it is) but "Connecting with Nature" is an excellent tool for adults too.  I use her site and love it!
